I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of California and Nevada and have private practices in both states.
In my therapy practice, I specialize in in Marriage and Relationship Therapy, Therapy with erotically marginalized populations, Therapy with LGBTQAI+ clients and Relationship Therapy with clients in non-traditional relationships (polyamory, swinging, open etc.).
After working for several years as a Behavioral Health Educator teaching classes on Couples Communication for a large medical care provider in California, I realized how vast the need was for people to get support around issues having to do with Relationships.
I also saw how woefully inadequate many of the programs being offered were. I wanted to do more to help people have the loving, pleasure filled and fulfilling relationships that we all deserve.
That's why, in 2021, I decided to become a Relationship, Sex and Intimacy Coach - and I love every second of it!
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Coaching is an interactive experience where I'll speak to you and your partner or partners for 50 minutes. In the first few sessions, we'll discuss the issues you are experiencing and what your goals are. Then we will collaboratively come up with an action plan that details how we're going to achieve those goals. At times I will assign homework assignments (short reading assignments, logs and/or exercises) for you to use outside of our sessions.
All of my coaching sessions are entirely online, via Zoom.
I offer sessions at a variety of times and days of the week so that you can choose the time that best suits your life and your schedule.
Generally speaking, yes, what happens in our sessions stays in our sessions. Exceptions exist in the law for instances of child/elder abuse, tangible threats to another person's life and/or potential instances of lethal self harm. As a mandated reporter, I am required by law to intercede in those instances.
If those conditions are not present, the contents of your session are absolutely 100% confidential.
The time that your coaching process will take depends on the complexity of your goals and your commitment and openness to your process. Some clients get what they need to make positive changes in their relationships in a month or a couple of months, other people may need longer.
I offer sessions weekly, every other week and monthly depending upon the client's desires and needs. Generally speaking, after the client's initial goals are met, I like for clients to go "road test" their new skills for awhile without my assistance. You're always free to drop back in for "booster" sessions later or resume sessions as other issues arise.
